Mikhail Lebedev – Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Professor, Doctor of Technical Sciences, specializing in welding, related processes and technologies. The main direction of his scientific activity is a study of the physical and mechanical characteristics of products with coatings applied by highly concentrated energy sources using powder materials. He showed that the use of parts with protective coatings in dynamic components of equipment and structural elements operated at low temperatures leads to a steady increase in internal stresses of the second kind in friction surfaces. For the first time, a coupled process of coating melting during the formation of coatings has been developed and its technological parameters have been established.
Research interests: materials science and technology of inorganic materials, development of principles for obtaining highly efficient macroheterogeneous materials (structural basalt plastics, instrumental diamond-metal composites).

Instrumentation for research in geosciences
Conducting geophysical research and developing geophysical models is inseparable from improving methods of measurement and data processing. Despite the constant increase in the quantity and quality of measurements carried out on research satellites in near-Earth space, in many areas of geophysics, ground-based continuous measurements continue to be the most accurate and long-term series of observations. Regular geophysical instrumental observations began more than 300 years ago and have become an integral part of applied and fundamental scientific research. The session is devoted to the theory and practice of instrumental geophysical observations, including the development of new measuring instruments, methods for processing initial data, experience in scientific and methodological support for observatory and field observations.
